The Longevity Diet
Guest of the program "il mio Dottore" the cardiologist prof. Sanguigni who talks to us about the Longevity diet, a diet that allows us to age slowly while keeping us healthy.
A diet rich in antioxidants, those substances present in many foods that inhibit the process of oxidative stress in cells. Antioxidants are contained in large quantities in fruit and vegetables in molecules of organic plant origin: "polyphenols".
They fight cellular aging by counteracting the action of free radicals, which are the result of the natural process of cellular metabolism and which lead to oxidation and premature cellular death.
The antioxidant diet begins at breakfast with:
- 1 cup of green tea
- 2 slices of wholemeal bread or 2 wholemeal rusks with 4 teaspoons of Powellnux cream and a piece of dark chocolate.
